The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department provides the geospatial data, mapping, and spatial analysis that support planning, development, and informed decision-making throughout the region. By integrating authoritative geographic data with advanced mapping technologies, we deliver accurate, timely, and reliable information for government agencies, partner organizations, businesses, and the public.
Our team develops and maintains enterprise GIS databases, interactive web maps, digital mapping applications, and analytical tools that support land use planning, transportation, infrastructure management, economic development, environmental analysis, and emergency response. We are committed to maintaining high-quality geospatial data while providing innovative solutions that improve efficiency and enhance collaboration.
In addition to traditional GIS services, the department operates an advanced Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) program that produces high-resolution aerial imagery, ortho-mosaic maps, elevation models, and detailed 3D photogrammetric models. These products support engineering, planning, infrastructure inspections, construction monitoring, asset management, and historical documentation by providing current, highly accurate representations of the built and natural environment.
