The Stark County Fair Housing Department’s (SCFHD) mission is to eliminate housing discrimination, racial and sexual harassment and to ensure housing opportunities for all people regardless of a person’s race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry, military status, disability, or familial status.  In furthering this goal, the SCFHD promotes equal housing opportunity through leadership, education, and outreach.  Furthermore, the department identifies barriers to fair housing in order to help counteract and eliminate discriminatory housing practices.  The department takes all appropriate and necessary actions are taken to ensure that fair housing laws are properly and fairly enforced throughout the city of Alliance, and Stark County.  SCFHD envisions a county free of housing discrimination where every individual, group, and community enjoys equal housing opportunity.
