Updates:

5/1/2025 - Beginning today, the intermediate asphalt course installation was beginning.  Temporary striping within the residential section is scheduled for 5/5 with northbound and southbound lanes of traffic being opened later that week or early the week of 5/13.  These items are weather dependent and the schedule will be adjusted if required.

4/10/2025 - Our contractor, Wenger Excavating,  has been working in areas where there were no conflicts, while AT&T, Dominion Enbridge, and the Sanitary Engineer’s office completed the work to resolve their conflicts that were delaying our contractor from providing an accurate and updated schedule.  Those conflicts, in addition to keeping Wenger working where they were able, resulted in a longer closure of Perry Drive to through traffic than originally anticipated, but performing a large portion of the underground sewer work during this time, will allow us to complete the overall project sooner than originally thought.   With those conflict now being completed, we want to provide a timeline for upcoming work.  The next few weeks will be focused on finishing the storm sewer installation on the east side of Perry Drive between 14th & 15th Street and installing curb and gutter and drive aprons in the residential section of the project.  As long as weather conditions don’t delay things, we are looking to complete base and intermediate asphalt in the residential section by the end of April.  Looking further down the timeline, the 100% completion date has been amended to mid June (moved up from September 1, 2025).

2/7/2025 - The installation of storm sewer between 13th Street and 15th Street is close to being completed.  The remaining portion located on the west side of Perry Drive is currently on hold while AT&T comes in to reposition utility lines/duct banks that they mistakenly believed and communicated to us were out of the way of our project.    These lines include 911 operations which legally require a notification period prior to moving so that emergency services can be notified and prepared.  Per AT&T, they can start the relocation work on February 20th and should be completed by mid March. Once AT&T has completed their relocation, the remaining storm sewer facilities will be completed.  Our contractor, Wenger Excavating, has been invaluable in working around this issue, and keeping the project moving as best they can.

11/4/2024 - Perry Drive will be closed to through traffic from just south of 13th Street SW to 15th Street SW beginning Monday, November 11th to begin work on the replacement of sanitary sewer lines.  Due to the location and depth of the existing sewer, there will be no through traffic allowed on Perry Drive.  Access for all property owners between 13th Street SW and 15th Street SW will be maintained.  Southbound traffic from SR172 will be able to access 13th Street SW, while northbound traffic from Southway Street will remain in its current configuration with no access to 15th Street SW.

9/5/2024 - Starting 9/6/24, access for northbound traffic will be limited to businesses only.  Motorists in both directions will not be able to access 15th Street due to waterline installation work at the intersection.

8/21/2024 - The contractor is finishing Phase 1 work in the coming days.  At that time, the traffic patterns will be adjusted to the Phase 2 configuration.  Southbound traffic will still be able to travel from Tuscarawas Street to Southway, but northbound traffic will be closed from 15th Street to Tuscarawas.  During Phase 2, waterline work along the east side of the roadway will be the main focus.

7/18/2024 - Starting on 7/22, Northbound traffic on Perry Drive from Southway Street to 15th will be closed to traffic.  This closure is part of Phase 1 of the project and is scheduled for 30 days.  Detour using Southway Street, Raff Road, and Tuscarawas Street.

5/3/2024 - The day closures on Perry Drive will extend through 5/10 as utility relocation work is completed.

4/25/2024 - During the week of 4/29, the closure on Perry Drive will be in place during working hours (7AM-7PM) as gas line and sewer relocation work is completed.

4/17/2024 - The closure of Perry Drive will be extended through 4/27/24 as crews work to finalize utility relocation and sanitary sewer work.  The existing detour route will remain in place.

3/25/2024 - Starting April 1, 2024, Perry Drive will be closed at the railroad tracks just north of Southway Street for utility relocation work.  The closure is scheduled for 19 day and no through traffic will be permitted.  A detour route utilizing Tuscarawas Street, Raff Avenue, and Southway Street will be signed for motorists.
