Each hotel and motel in Stark County is responsible for collecting a 6% lodging tax from each of their transient guests. At the end of each quarter they forward monies collected to the Stark County Auditor’s Office, which is then distributed as follows: 3% is withheld for administrative fees, 1% goes to municipalities and the remainder is distributed to the Stark County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
