Judge Curt Werren grew up in Canton and graduated from McKinley High School. He came back to Canton after completing law school at The Ohio State University and practiced law for twenty years with Day Ketterer Ltd. Judge Werren was also Executive Director of the Stark County Regional Chapter of the American Red Cross. Prior to Joining the Canton Municipal Court, Judge Werren served as a Judge of the Stark County Court of Common Pleas. Judge Werren has been active in the community. He is on the Board of the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum and the SAM Center. Among notable prior activities, Judge Werren served with the Stark County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board and has been President of the Rotary Club of Canton. He also co-chaired the campaign to develop the Community Campus at Goodwill. In addition to his regular docket in the Canton Municipal Court, Judge Werren presided over the Recovery Court, a drug court certified by the Supreme Court of Ohio. Judge Werren was awarded the 2017 HOPE Award for his efforts with the Court's specialized dockets. Judge Werren is a life-long Stark County resident who is married to Stephanie, Director of Leadership Stark County. They raised triplet children who are now grown.
